Random Thoughts! Link up and share yours too!

I feel like writing, but I don't have a certain particular thing on my mind.  I have sort of been this way all week.  Lots of thoughts roaming around in my head but not one particular thought surfacing.  So instead, tonight, I will be random.

Random #1:
I love the color red.  What does that really mean about me?  Some think it's a power color.  Others think it is warm.  Others think it represents a type of personality.  Who decides that, I mean really?  Red for me means beautiful.  It is rich, it is bold, it looks good on my couch, my wall, my clothes, and even my lips though I don't go there much.  Red is much less a defining trait of who I am and much more a stand alone enjoyment.  I                               just love red.

Random #2
Sometimes, my hound dog's bark drives me crazy, but mostly I smile every time I hear him.  Why?  Because he is unique.  I never question if it is him.  I always know.  And I know when I hear it one of three things are happening.  1) He is glad I am finally home!  2) He is alerting us that feeding time has arrived... his internal clock is spot on!  or 3) He has cornered a coon.  The first two we can quiet the barking seal sound effects exploding from his throat, the third... well forget it... he will bark relentlessly until that crafty little critter finds an escape (at least that is what I believe.  All the cute little coons make it.  That is my story and I am sticking to it!)

Random #3
It drives me crazy how much I love food that is bad for me and have to work so hard at loving food that is good for me.  I need a dietitian to live with me, cook meals for me, change me.  I try on my own... but I get bored really fast... and I get lost for new REAL ideas.  Seems all the good healthy ideas take a ton of money and a ton of time.  I want to eat better all the time.  I want to love cooking healthy the way I love cooking Mexican food.  Battle of the belly continues... grrrrr!

Random #4
Sometimes I would rather watch Disney's "Good Luck Charlie" than an adult show.  It is just a funny sitcom!  I think I like it because it is wholesome and it takes zero thought to enjoy it. And maybe because sometimes I so relate to the mom!

Random #5
Sometimes the best lessons for our kids are the most painful ones.  My kids are champions.  They really are.  I have seen them all endure things most kids never have to face and as they go through the fire, they grow.  Would I stop the fire when it's happening... ABSOLUTELY!  But ultimately, their refinement makes it worth it (almost!  I mean come on, a Mom's hurt never fully accepts pain for their child of any
                                                                kind!)

Random #6
Football season in heat index temp of 105-110 is just ugly... for the players and the fans.  I miss sitting under a blanket, holding hot chocolate.  Football isn't the same with sweat running down my back.  But... to see my boy play... I would sit through anything.

Random #7
The more "cushion" on the backside does NOT mean a more comfortable sit.  Why is that?  Why when I was bony, did it hurt less, and now with some padding, I get more uncomfortable sitting ?  Shouldn't that at least be one perk to getting old and squishier?

Random #8
Movies cannot be trusted.  Tried to see what we thought would be a funny movie, with my 15 year old son.  We left after 20 minutes.  I can't imagine the R ratings these days if THAT was PG 13.  Really, people?  Is this what we are accepting as okay these days...... grrrrrrr (again)

Random #9
One of my favorite things of the week was standing and reading the humor cards when shopping for my parents anniversary card.  They have been together 42 years.  Many would buy a sappy, sweet card.  But not me.  My parents aren't the sappy, sweet type.  The thing I love the most about my family is how we laugh and crack jokes... a lot of the time at each other... and I believe it is what makes their love endure.  My man and I are following suit.  So I had a BLAST all by myself, reading funny cards and cracking up.  (However, when I was leaving, I am pretty sure I might have been being followed by these guys in white coats....)

Random #10
Three day weekends after the first week of school are the BOMB!  We had a great start, but man was it tough getting back to the grind of the alarm clocks and schedules.  So tomorrow... I shall sleep for as long as I possibly can... and then spend one more day acting like it's summer!

So what about you?  Link up to me and let me know what are your Top Tens in  Random Thoughts!

Have a quirky week!  They can be the most fun!
