In Loving memory of Memolly

Today, we received word that our sweet Memolly (Todd's grandmother) has left earth for her real home.  At 11:49, Jesus ushered her home to meet her Heavenly Father face to face.  When I dwell on that, it leaves very little room for sadness.  Until... I think of Pepolly.  Oh goodness.  That changes everything.

He has loved and been married to Memolly for 70 beautiful years this month.  They had a party planned for the 24th of June to celebrate.  And as much as I know he is so thankful Memolly is in the midst of the beginning of an eternal celebration, I know, I KNOW his heart is heavy and hurting in ways I can't understand.  I have only been married to my love for 18 years.  I can't imagine how deep the loyal love will run after 70.  So though I know Meep is so blessed and wonderful... and probably being greeted by my sweet little son, no less!... I ache for Peep...  For everyone, that loved her, but especially for Pepolly.

When things like this take place, and especially when we aren't even there (or able to be there due to our current crisis here) to help, all I have to do is write.  So... here I sit.  I will write in loving memory of Memolly.

So Precious, So Unique

A gentle smile, a warm embrace
Memolly was a woman of grace
But not just the kind you typically see
She was one of a kind, so precious and so unique

With her strawberry blond hair, recently turned white
She was precious to us and even more in God's sight
She loved to cook and and have family gathered to eat
But the sometimes oddly-colored food, like Meep was so unique :)

She loved to play games and was so competitive at them
She played for fun, but be assured she played to win
She sewed and sewed and made quilts so beautifully
She was one of a kind, so precious and so unique!

Memolly didn't like to discuss age or expose her wrinkled, sweet hands
But we cherished each wrinkle as those hands held on to her man
The love they shared, each year was made more precious indeed
For it was one of a kind, so precious and so unique!

The marriage a beautiful pillar of strength, love, and respect
A love that will endure far beyond this earthly death
For we know that Jesus has defeated the grave so joyfully
Because our God is one of a kind, so precious and so unique!

And because of that hope, though the sorrow remains
We know Memolly is not really gone, her loss is not in vein
For she is truly living out what we all so long to see
In our eternal Heaven, so precious and so unique!

MeMolly's legacy is strong, we will hold to it now
We will praise our dear Jesus and rejoice somehow
Even though this side of the veil, the loss is quite deep
An eternal reuniting will come, so precious and so unique

So mourn not too much dear ones, as we now let her go
Hold to one another and hold to the hope
For God is faithful and to Him we will cling
As we remember our Sweet Memolly, so precious and so unique!
