Nugget of Joy

Today is a great, great day... and I mean GREAT! Did I mention GREAT? We got the word today that Seth, our 7th grader, has been invited to go the the USA Olympic training center to train with the Olympic team for a week. Kids under the age of 15 are not usually invited, but Seth has been and it is wonderful! I am not sure who is more excited... him or me and his daddy! What a wonderful thing our God has done!

So my nugget for the day.... God may ask you to leave things behind that you really don't want to leave, but when He does, He always gives you something wonderful ahead of you. Seth had such a hard time leaving Amarillo. He had some solid friends, loved his youth pastor and youth group, and had one of the finest wrestling clubs around. It was tough on him to leave. But we all held to the promises of God where there are PLANS... not hopes or maybes... but predetermined, God created plans for a future and a hope. We know some of those involve our most important, permanent future in Heaven. But no doubt, God is gracious and gives us good things right here on Earth as we push on in our journey with Him. And this gift of opportunity is one more concrete evidence of proof that God is up to good, good things in our lives. Seth has his eyes on the King and the King is rewarding him! How humbly grateful Seth is. His smile is larger than life and my joy overflows in knowing that Seth knows this is a gift from God alone. He knows.

What a wonderful God we serve! Never doubt Him for He is real, available, and overflowing with mercy and love!

(And by the way... THREE DAYS IN A ROW! Can you say YEE HAW?)

Blessings this Monday that just got a whole lot sweeter!

Robin
